New Regulations on Tobacco Product Retail Prices in Indonesia
Indonesian government announces new regulations on tobacco product retail prices effective from January 1, 2025.

According to DDTC News on January 1st, the Indonesian government has recently issued two new Minister of Finance regulations (PMK) regarding suggested retail prices for tobacco products, which will take effect on January 1, 2025.


Regulation PMK 97/2024 sets the recommended retail price for traditional cigarettes, while Regulation PMK 96/2024 involves adjustments to the recommended retail prices for e-cigarettes and other tobacco products.

The lowest price for HNBpod (HNB, heated tobacco products) is 6,240 Indonesian Rupiah (0.4 USD) per gram, which has increased by 6.01% compared to 2024, with a consumption tax of 3,074 Indonesian Rupiah (0.2 USD) per gram. The lowest price for open system is 1,368 Indonesian Rupiah (0.1 USD) per milliliter, which has increased by 22% compared to 2024, with a consumption tax of 636 Indonesian Rupiah (0.04 USD) per milliliter. The lowest price for pod system is 41,983 Indonesian Rupiah (2.6 USD) per pod, which has increased by 5.99% compared to 2024, with a consumption tax of 6,776 Indonesian Rupiah (0.5 USD) per milliliter.
