New Year Sale: Get IQOS ILUMA with 3,000 yen Discount

Philip Morris Japan is hosting a "[Max Discount 3000 yen] New Year Sale!" event, offering discounted prices for IQOS ILUMA devices.

According to a report by Kakaku, Philip Morris Japan is currently running a "[Up to 3000 yen Off] New Year Discount!" campaign, offering discounted prices for IQOS ILUMA. The campaign will run from January 19th to February 19th. During this period, the IQOS ILUMA series of heated tobacco products will be sold at a maximum discount of 3000 yen.

HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) has released sample images of the UK’s transitional vaping duty stamps, showing red and yellow versions ahead of the new Vaping Products Duty and Vaping Duty Stamps Scheme starting on October 1, 2026. Transitional stamps contain physical security features but no digital scanning function. Approved businesses may purchase them through November 30 and affix them through December 31. Australian Coalition Unveils Illicit Tobacco Plan With 80% Excise Cut and Legal, Taxed Vapes and Nicotine Pouches

Australia’s Coalition has unveiled a national illicit-tobacco policy that would cut tobacco excise by 80% and create legal, regulated and taxed adult markets for vaping products and nicotine pouches if it wins government. China-based Hunan China Tobacco Industry Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Baisha Technology Co., Ltd. have filed a patent application covering an adult-user identification mechanism for heated tobacco devices. The patent proposes using flexible pressure sensors installed in the device grip area to collect pressure distribution patterns generated when users hold the device. The system evaluates factors including effective contact area, grip shape and contact duration, and combines roller movement detection to determine whether unlocking conditions are met. The filing reflects exploration of device-level user recognition and smarter interaction technologies for heated tobacco products (HTPs).
