The government of Newfoundland and Labrador has lifted its 2019 ban on the sale of cannabis e-cigarette products.
According to a report from the Business Daily, Peter Murphy, the Chief Marketing Officer of Newfoundland and Labrador province, has stated that the government, adult cannabis regulatory body and wholesaler Newfoundland Labrador Liquor Corporation (NLC) have reviewed the cannabis industry in Newfoundland and have decided to carry electronic cannabis products.
This change has opened up a new limited market for electronic cigarettes. In September, Newfoundland was the second smallest marijuana market out of the 10 provinces in Canada, with regulated recreational marijuana sales worth $5.7 million CAD (approximately RMB 29.72 million), accounting for about 1.5% of Canada's total marijuana sales.
The Quebec government-owned recreational cannabis monopoly, the Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC), still does not sell electronic cigarettes.
