OLCC Recalls Marijuana Products Due to Pesticide Contamination
OLCC recalls marijuana products due to pesticide contamination, affecting 13,600 products sold to consumers in Oregon.

Several marijuana products are being recalled by the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) due to potential pesticide contamination.

The contamination of cannabis products is the result of non-compliance with the regulations set by the OLCC and the Oregon Health Authority (OHA), which require tracking and isolating cannabis products that have been detected with pesticides.

A recall has been issued for 9,300 marijuana products, affecting 13,600 products sold to consumers. These products are concentrated forms of the psychoactive compound Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), ranging from inhalable items such as THC extracts and e-cigarette cartridges, to an ingestible THC known as Rick Simpson Oil (RSO). They were manufactured under the brand names Bobsled and Quantum Alchemy by OLCC license holders.

Bobsled has released a number of new products over the past few months. The "Dolato Cured Resin Vape Cartridge" was manufactured on September 12th, 2022 (with tag ID 5368) and went on sale on October 4th. The "Larry OG Cured Resin" was manufactured on August 29th, 2022 (with tag ID 5326) and went on sale on September 15th. The "Larry OG Dabs Sugar Sauce" was also manufactured on August 29th, 2022 (tag ID 5326) and was made available for sale on September 26th. The "Stardawg Cured Resin" was manufactured on September 12th, 2022 (with tag ID 5326) and went on sale on October 10th. The "Frostbite Cured Resin" was produced on June 13th, 2022 (with Label ID 5326) and became available for sale on September 21st. Lastly, the "Sunburn Cured Resin" was also manufactured on June 13th, 2022.

Quantum Alchemy has launched four new products: "RSO Raspberry GMO," which was manufactured on November 29th, 2021 (label ID 5764) and started selling on November 28th; "HTE Distillate R#ntz," manufactured on November 30th, 2021 and sold between December 10th, 2021 and January 6th, 2022; "HTE Distillate McR#ntz," manufactured on February 21st, 2022 and has been on sale since September 23rd; and "Cart 1g HTE Distillate Milo," manufactured on February 21st, 2022 and also available for purchase since September 23rd.

The Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) has issued a recall notice to retailers, detailing how to dispose of the products or return them to licensed suppliers for destruction. OLCC utilized the state's cannabis tracking system to detect potentially contaminated products, contacting their license holders and identifying all suspicious items distributed and sold through the regulated market in Oregon.

The OLCC inspectors will follow up with license holders who possess the affected products to ensure that they are removed from sale, separated from other inventory, and disposed of according to OLCC regulations. Customers who purchased the product can return it to the OLCC-licensed retailer from which they purchased it, or dispose of it themselves.

On November 29, 2022, the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) initiated an investigation into companies manufacturing Bobsled products (Bobsled, LLC) and Quantum Alchemy products (Happy Hollow Farms, Inc.) that are collaborating.

Although these events are happening at the same time, the OLCC is investigating each one as a separate incident.

RJR Vapor Loses Tax Refund Case as Texas High Court Finds VELO Pouches Taxable
The Texas Supreme Court issued a case summary on May 8, 2026, describing its decision in Hancock v. RJR Vapor Co. LLC. The dispute centered on whether RJR Vapor’s VELO oral nicotine pouches are taxable as “tobacco products” under the Texas Tax Code. Lower courts had held that the pouches were not taxable tobacco products, but the Texas Supreme Court reversed, concluding that VELO pouches are taxable because they are made of “a tobacco substitute.”
