According to WHTM, a Pennsylvania lawmaker wants to keep vape shops away from schools.
The legislation, proposed by State Representative Chris Pielli, aims to keep newly licensed vape shops at least 1,000 feet away from Pennsylvania’s K-12 schools.
The memo cites a Montgomery County grand jury report from 2025 that found THC products were mislabeled and sold to teenagers. Congress closed the loophole that allowed the sale of THC products, but the memo argues that the vape shops are still too close to where children learn.
The memo also highlights that THC products operate in a gray area due to the 2018 federal Farm Bill, and there is no guarantee that those products sold in vape stores are safe.
Chris Pielli said some constituents are concerned that these products could end up in the hands of children.
The legislation has not yet been submitted for introduction.
