
According to a report by Tobacco Reporter on September 18, Philip Morris International (PMI) has appointed Victoria Harker as a member of its board of directors, effective from January 1, 2024.
Hack is an experienced American Chief Financial Officer of a publicly traded company. She has held this position at three different companies and has been involved in significant corporate transformations in the consumer goods, industrial, and utilities sectors for over 25 years. She is a highly proactive, action-oriented executive with a strategic mindset. Recently, she has been appointed as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of TEGNA Inc., a global media and digital communications company. This position will take effect on December 31, 2023.
Prior to this, she held positions as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Global Business Services President at global power company The AES Corporation. She also served as a non-executive board member for two complex publicly traded U.S. companies, Huntington Ingalls Industries and Xylem Inc., holding these positions since their respective spin-off periods. Hock also served as Chair of the Audit Committee for Huntington Ingalls Industries and Chair of the Compensation Committee for Xylem Inc. She is also Deputy Chair of the Virginia Higher Education Council, a board member of the University of Virginia Health System, and a former board member of the University of Virginia.
André Calantzopoulos, the CEO of PMI, has praised the appointment of Victoria Hack, expressing delight in her joining the PMI Board of Directors. In a statement, Calantzopoulos said, "We are very pleased to welcome Victoria to the PMI Board.
