PMI Japan Upgrades IQOS ILUMA i One with New Button Layout, Aluminum Base
PMI Japan has refreshed its all-in-one heated tobacco device, IQOS ILUMA i One, with upgraded materials and exterior design. Sales begin October 29 via IQOS stores and the official website. The new model retains core features such as auto-start and continuous use, but is not compatible with accessories from the previous version.

2Firsts, October 30, 2025 — Citing Kakaku.com, Philip Morris Japan announced a design refresh for its all-in-one heated-tobacco device, IQOS ILUMA i One, with sales starting October 29 at IQOS retail stores and the official online shop. The update includes a new button layout and replaces the plastic bottom component with aluminum.

The report notes that the refreshed IQOS ILUMA i One maintains key user features such as auto-start and the ability to use about 20 sticks consecutively, but it is not compatible with accessories from the previous model. The device comes in four colors—Digital Purple, Breeze Blue, Midnight Black, and Leaf Green—at a Japan list price of JPY 3,980 (about USD 25).

 

As previously reported by 2Firsts, Philip Morris International’s Korea unit launched the IQOS ILUMA i One at KRW 59,000 (about USD 45).

China’s vape exports showed resilience in the first half of 2026 after a short-term shock from China’s export rebate adjustment. But customs data points to more than a simple recovery: the structure of growth is changing.
