It points out that the plastic and batteries used in disposable e-cigarettes are not easily recyclable or biodegradable.
The Ministry of Health explains that "these projects may lead to electronic waste, which contains harmful chemicals that can seep into the soil and water sources, posing risks to the environment and public health."
Previously, Philippines Finance Minister Ricto had stated that they were exploring the possibility of banning disposable e-cigarettes domestically due to issues such as unregulated sales, tax evasion, and significant health risks.
