PMI Named Global Top Employer for Eighth Consecutive Year
Philip Morris International named global top employer for eighth consecutive year, according to Summa Magazine on February 20.

According to a report by Summa magazine on February 20th, Philip Morris International has been recognized for the eighth consecutive year as a "Top Employer" globally by the Top Employers Institute, due to its ongoing commitment to employee development and welfare.

 

This survey covers 20 themes in six areas including talent strategy, work environment, talent acquisition, learning, diversity and inclusivity, and happiness.

Chinese vape exports to the U.S. jumped from about 2.2 million kg in June to 14.8 million kg in October 2025, despite tougher enforcement, the Washington Examiner reported. 2Firsts finds the surge reflects delayed bulk shipments, not demand recovery. With U.S. inventory exceeding 160 million devices and distributors paying ~10% upfront, cash-flow stress has shifted to Chinese manufacturers, and discounted stock is spilling into other markets.

Russian State Duma Passes Ban on Tobacco and Vape Sales at Public Transport Stops
Russia’s State Duma has approved, in its third reading, a law banning the sale of cigarettes and electronic cigarettes at public transport stops. The measure expands existing restrictions on tobacco sales at transport infrastructure facilities and aims to reduce accessibility, particularly among young people. The law includes an exemption for small settlements where such kiosks are the only sales points and will take effect on September 1, 2026.

Jersey and Guernsey will enforce a full ban on disposable vapes from Saturday, 31 January 2026, making it illegal for shops to sell them after close of business. Online purchases shipped into the islands will also be targeted, with Guernsey’s Director of Public Health Dr Nicola Brink saying Customs will conduct checks and can seize imported disposables. Refillable vapes are not covered by the ban.
