Police Seize 450 Smuggled E-cigarettes in Edirne Operation
Turkish police seize 450 smuggled e-cigarettes from a suspicious car in Edirne during an operation. Driver under investigation.

According to a report by Turkish news agency Anadolu (DHA) on December 13, police in Edirne seized 450 smuggled e-cigarettes during an operation, from a vehicle they suspected.

 

As part of their efforts to combat smuggling activities, the police force in the province intercepted a vehicle in the Enez area that they suspected to be involved in illegal activities. After conducting a search of the vehicle, they discovered 450 smuggled e-cigarettes.

 

The driver has been initiated into the judicial process by the authorities.

Virginia Commonwealth University has signed a letter of intent to acquire Altria Group’s 450,000-square-foot building in downtown Richmond for USD 150 million, but the deal still depends on approval from the General Assembly. Casey’s General Stores (NASDAQ: CASY) reported accelerating growth in modern nicotine products during its fiscal third quarter ended January 31, 2026. Nicotine pouch sales increased 31% year over year, while vapor products rose 12%. Although cigarette unit sales continued to decline, management stated that the rate of decline slowed compared to prior quarters.

The Philippine Department of Health reiterated Saturday that vaping should not be promoted as an alternative to cigarette smoking, Health Secretary Teodoro “Ted” Herbosa said in a radio interview, according to the Tribune. Herbosa said both vaping and smoking pose irreversible health risks and cited E-cigarette or Vaping Product Use-Associated Lung Injury (EVALI), claiming it led to the death of a 22-year-old male with no smoking history in 2025.
