Russian Customs Seizes Over 2,000 Illegal E-Cigarettes, Including 'GEEK BAR'

Russian customs authorities have seized over 2,000 illegal e-cigarettes and nearly 18,000 bottles of e-liquid, including products from the "GEEK BAR", due to missing labels.

According to a report from Amic.Ru on December 2nd, Russian customs in the Altai Region seized thousands of illegal e-cigarettes and their e-liquid at a store in the city of Barnaul.

Authorities discovered over 2000 illegal e-cigarettes, nearly 18,000 bottles of e-cigarette liquid, and 187 packages of hookah tobacco without the necessary DataMatrix code identification during an inspection of a store. The confiscated goods have been taken by law enforcement officials.

Since the beginning of 2024, over 20,000 packs of unmarked cigarettes, 3,000 e-cigarettes, more than 19,000 bottles of e-cigarette liquid, and 123 cans of nicotine-containing chewing mixtures have been discovered in the area.

BAT Malaysia's Q3 results show a sharp 89.5% drop in net profit to RM7 million (approximately $150,000 USD), with revenue also falling to RM300 million (approximately $6.4 million USD). JT Q3 2025: Revenue +18%, Profit +30%; RRP Volume +40%; Guidance Up

Japan Tobacco (JT) delivered a strong Q3 2025. Revenue rose 18.3% year over year to ¥947.2 billion, with adjusted operating profit up 27.8% to ¥279.0 billion (+20.8% at constant currency) and net profit up 29.7% to ¥176.7 billion. Growth was led by reduced-risk products (RRP): total RRP volume climbed 40%, with heated tobacco (HTS) up 53%. In Japan, the launches of Ploom AURA and EVO pods pushed HTS category share to 15.5%, while the Ploom user base has nearly doubled versus two years ago.

NYS Youth Tobacco Use Down 29% Since 2022, Lowest Since 2000

According to the New York State Department of Health’s latest StatShot (Vol.17, #2025-1), high school tobacco product use in 2024 fell to 17.0%, the lowest rate since 2000, marking a 29% decline from 2022. E-cigarette use decreased from 18.7% to 13.1%, while cigarette use remained low at 2.4%.However, nicotine pouch use increased from 1.5% to 3.0%.
