Russia’s Kirov seizes unmarked vape liquids worth over $13,000
Police in Kirov, Russia, seized unmarked nicotine e-liquids for vapes worth more than 1 million rubles (about $13,000, using 1 ruble = $0.013) in a case involving a 27-year-old entrepreneur. Officers confiscated over 700 bottles from five retail outlets and found more than 8,000 additional units at a warehouse.

According to Valentin Grebenkin, police in Kirov, Russia, disrupted an alleged operation involving the sale of unmarked nicotine e-liquids for vapes. The raid involved officers from the economic security unit and fighters from the National Guard’s SOBR special unit.

 

Authorities said the 27-year-old suspect had been storing and selling illegal, unlabelled products since October last year. During checks at five retail outlets, officers seized more than 700 bottles of nicotine liquid lacking mandatory markings.

 

At the suspect’s warehouse, police discovered a further 8,000-plus units of similar products. Investigators valued the total haul at more than 1 million rubles — about $13,000 at an exchange rate of 1 ruble = $0.013. Vehicles used to transport the goods and communication equipment were also confiscated.

 

A criminal case has been opened over the alleged illegal trade in unmarked goods, and the investigation is continuing.
