South Korea's E-cigarette Imports: China, Vietnam, Malaysia Ranked Top 3

According to data released by South Korean customs on August 16th, 2FIRSTS has analyzed the import situation of e-cigarettes in South Korea.

According to statistics, the total import value of various categories of e-cigarettes in South Korea in July 2023 was $14.49 million, representing a year-on-year growth of 0.67% but a month-on-month decrease of 17.58%. The total weight of imports was 162.6 tons, showing a year-on-year decrease of 1.45% and a month-on-month decrease of 8.45%. The average unit price stood at $89.11 per kilogram, with a year-on-year growth of 2.15% but a month-on-month decrease of 9.98%.

In the month of July, China emerged as the largest importer of e-cigarettes from South Korea, with an import value of 8.46 million US dollars. This accounted for 58.41% of the total import volume, which amounted to 116.3 tons. The average import unit price stood at 72.77 US dollars per kilogram.

The second largest importing country is Vietnam, with an import value of $5.31 million, which accounts for 36.65% of the total import volume. The import weight amounts to 38.3 tons, with an average import unit price of $138.64 per kilogram.

Malaysia ranks as the third largest importing country, with an import value of 642,000 US dollars, accounting for 4.43% of the total imports. The imported goods weigh 7.2 tons, with an average import price of 89.17 US dollars per kilogram.
