According to the Spanish National Police, Europe's largest illegal production and distribution network of tobacco products has been dismantled.
Searches and arrests have been carried out in Navarra and the Basque region. 16 suspects have been charged. It was found that the attackers were part of an organized group that purchased large quantities of tobacco, manufactured counterfeit branded cigarettes in underground enterprises.
More than three million ready-to-use cigarette packages, three tons of tobacco and 27 tons of tobacco leaves were confiscated. The production capacity of the suspended factory is 3 million packs of cigarettes per month.
