Supreme, B&M Bargains Team Up with ELFBAR to Promote Recycling

UK e-cigarette company Supreme plc has partnered with B&M to launch a nationwide e-cigarette recycling initiative.

According to a report by British media outlet business-live on January 12, e-cigarette company Supreme plc has recently announced a collaboration with retail chain B&M with the aim of promoting e-cigarette recycling to alleviate concerns about the environmental impact of disposable e-cigarettes.

The British government is currently considering a ban on disposable e-cigarette products. In addition, the animal welfare organization RSPCA has also urged opposition to e-cigarettes, citing potential dangers posed to animals.

Currently, Supreme is collaborating with global e-cigarette brands ELFBAR and B&M to launch over 700 e-cigarette recycling bins in B&M Bargains stores, marking the first-ever initiative of this kind in national retail chains. The program aims to significantly expand recycling efforts.

Waste management service provider Wastecare Group will be responsible for collecting and processing the disposal boxes. Supreme has stated that it will adhere to existing waste management regulations to recycle and repurpose the materials. The e-cigarette batteries will be processed for lithium recycling, while filters and nicotine elements will be incinerated.

Sandy Chadha, CEO of Supreme, has stated that the company has been working on long-term recycling solutions for the entire product portfolio and is proud to be able to drive e-cigarette recycling in nearly 700 retail stores nationwide.

A spokesperson for B&M announced that the company is collaborating with ELFBAR and Supreme to address the ongoing environmental damage caused by disposable e-cigarette products.

The Director of the Government Affairs Department of ELFBAR in the UK, Eve Peters, has stated that this marks another step taken to assist the public in responsibly and sustainably disposing of waste e-cigarettes.
