The Hidden Dangers of E-cigarettes: An Expert's Warning

Russian psychiatrist Vasiliy Shurov warns that e-cigarettes are as harmful as traditional cigarettes, containing dangerous chemicals and metals.

According to a recent report by LENTA.RU, Russian mental health specialist Vasiliy Shurov has pointed out that e-cigarettes are not less harmful to health than regular cigarettes. In a conversation, he refuted common misconceptions about the safety of e-cigarettes.

Dr. Shulov mentioned that he often encounters cases of children with psychological issues due to excessive use of nicotine-containing e-liquid, resulting in them being hospitalized for treatment. Additionally, he warned that e-cigarettes not only contain nicotine, but also chemicals such as formaldehyde and acetaldehyde, which may lead to chronic diseases such as coughing.

Shulov went on to explain that e-cigarettes also contain food additives propylene glycol and glycerin, which can lead to inflammation, damage, and allergic reactions in the respiratory system, thereby increasing the burden on the liver and kidneys. Furthermore, he added that when heating e-liquid, toxic metals such as lead and uranium may be released, and these metals can enter the body through the lungs.

All of these substances will accumulate in the body, as smoking makes it easier for them to enter the body, but the rate at which they are expelled from the body varies.
