Flavor-adjustable e-cigarettes trend as ELFBAR, SMOK launch new models
Disposable e-cigarette brands like ELFBAR and SMOK introduce flavor-adjustable products, setting a new trend in the UK and US markets.

According to an investigation by 2Firsts, since late September, several e-cigarette brands, including ELFBAR, SMOK, Lost Mary, and FASTA, have introduced disposable e-cigarettes with flavor adjustment features on distributor websites in the UK and US. These products typically come with multi-level adjustment settings, hinting at a potential new focus for market competition.

Previously, flavor variation in e-cigarettes primarily involved flavor-switching mechanisms, with many brands offering “rotating mouthpiece” models allowing users to switch between two flavors. In early September, the disposable e-cigarette Insta Max 20K 20000 appeared on multiple UK sites, featuring a double-tap button function that enables users to switch flavors or activate a mixed flavor mode.

Now, flavor competition is intensifying, with an increasing number of e-cigarettes offering multi-level and multi-mode flavor adjustments.

From higher puff counts to screen upgrades, from smart features to added hardware like “Bluetooth earbuds,” the disposable e-cigarette market is marked by continuous “innovation” in an ever-competitive landscape. The question remains: “How many more surprises are yet to come?”

Main Trends: Cooling Level Adjustment and Flavor Mixing

2Firsts compared several recently launched flavor-adjustable e-cigarette products and found that the primary trends focus on two forms: adjusting the “cooling intensity levels” and the “dual-flavor mixing ratio.”

Specifically, representative products with cooling level adjustments include FASTA Burrst 35000 and SPACEMAN SP40000.

Multiple Modes for Flavor Customization

Beyond different flavor options, each product offers unique methods for adjusting flavors. The most basic flavor adjustment uses buttons, allowing users to switch flavors by pressing or toggling settings. Another method, gaining popularity with larger screens—especially “3D curved screens”—is touch control for flavor adjustments. (Read more: The Rise of 3D Curved Screen E-cigarette Products)

The move follows a decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit to lift an injunction that had blocked enforcement. Retailers have warned that tighter product availability rules could increase pressure on vape shops. One Iowa retailer said that if only a limited number of products remain available, many stores could face significant business challenges.

According to CBS Los Angeles on August 27, 2026, California lawmakers have passed Assembly Bill 762, which would phase out disposable, battery-embedded nicotine vapes in the state. If signed by Governor Gavin Newsom, manufacturing and importation of the covered products would be prohibited beginning January 1, 2027, followed by a sales ban on January 1, 2028. Driven primarily by concerns over electronic waste, lithium-battery fires and environmental pollution, the legislation would further shift California’s legal vape market toward rechargeable, refillable or replaceable-pod devices.
