From August 18th to 22nd, 2Firsts observed that following the disposable vape ban, the UK market is seeing an accelerated influx of pod system and replaceable cartridge e-cigarettes. The US market continues its trend of "multi-functional and large-puff" products. Meanwhile, open-system hookah vapes have emerged as a new highlight.

From August 18 to 22, the products in the e-cigarette markets of the UK and the US continued to evolve. In the UK, after the ban on disposable e-cigarettes, packaged products accelerated their introduction. In the US market, the trend of "all-in-one, large capacity, multi-functional" continues, with product designs becoming more complex and diverse. Additionally, the introduction of open-system water pipe e-cigarettes also brings new highlights to the water pipe category.

 

 

Britain: New Pod System Kits Released, Focus on Large Volume Users.

 

 

The impact of disposable product phase-out is still ongoing. According to MHRA public data compiled by 2Firsts, in the week of August 11th to 17th, a total of 1156 e-cigarette SKUs were listed in the UK, with 1033 of them being pod-style updates. This is more than triple the 319 updates from the previous week. Additionally, a large number of refillable products previously approved have also entered the market in kit form.

 

  • The UK e-cigarette approval list has been updated, with the number of approved SKUs increasing to 1156. Pod SKUs account for 1033 of these approvals (August 11-17).

United States: "Duo in One" and Big Numbers Trend Deepen

 

 

The e-cigarette market in the United States is witnessing an increase in innovative oil products, as well as a clear trend towards higher puff counts. Several brands have introduced "N-in-one" designed e-cigarettes, with products equipped with multiple e-liquid compartments that allow users to switch flavors, and provide up to 120,000 puffs.
