Ukraine Launches Tobacco Portal Project "eTutun" for Transparency and Control
Ukraine launches "eTobacco" portal project to digitize tobacco production & imports, providing transparency on product ingredients and emissions.

According to a report on the Ukrainian government's official website Kmu.Gov on June 18, Ukraine has launched a tobacco portal project called "eTutun" aimed at digitizing the production and importation of tobacco in Ukraine. Manufacturers and importers will provide information on the ingredients of tobacco products and emissions during use on a dedicated portal website.

This project will allow consumers to access public information that is important to them, with the aim of ensuring transparency in the distribution of tobacco products. This will help the government control product quality, identify the list of producers and importers within Ukraine, and crack down on the black market for tobacco.

Sergei Tkachuk, representative of the Eastern European Foundation and Chairman of the National Food and Consumer Services Agency, emphasized the importance of strategic development and digitization.

The world is fighting against tobacco addiction, and our country is no exception. We must create conditions to protect the health of our citizens. Data on the ingredients of tobacco products is not confidential and will be published on the website of the National Production and Consumer Services Bureau. This will allow people to make informed choices about what to consume and whether to consume at all.

The project is scheduled to officially launch in February 2025. According to the law, manufacturers must enter their data into a unified database by February 1, 2025.

At the same time, legislative work is underway to synchronize the future Ukrainian system with the European system.
