On March 28th, according to a report by Newport Dispatch, the Vermont State Senate has given preliminary approval to a bill banning flavored tobacco products and e-cigarette liquids. Vermont is located in the northeastern United States and is one of the smallest states in terms of size. It's located near the states of New Hampshire, Maine, and New York.
Ban the sale of all flavored tobacco products.
The bill also mandates the State Attorney General's office to report to the legislature on the state's reporting status, including to what extent Vermont can legally restrict advertising and regulatory labeling of e-cigarettes and other smoking-related products.

Senator Ginny Lyons, Chair of the Health and Welfare Committee in the state's Senate and the primary sponsor of the bill, stated, "As legislators, we prioritize the health of Vermont's youth.
Faced with the increasing use of cigarettes and electronic cigarettes among teenagers, "we must make every effort to protect the next generation from the harmful effects of nicotine addiction.
Data from the Vermont Department of Health, as well as the Vermont chapters of the American Heart Association and American Cancer Society, show that almost all teenage e-cigarette users report using flavored tobacco products.
Among adolescents who have used tobacco products, over 80% of them have used flavored products. Nearly 65% of menthol cigarette users stated that they would quit smoking if menthol cigarettes were banned.
If Bill S.18 becomes law, Vermont will join Massachusetts and California in banning the sale of all flavored tobacco products.
The bill was approved on March 29th after final deliberation by the Senate and will now be reviewed further by the House of Representatives.
2FIRSTS will provide updates on the progress of the follow-up bills. Please stay tuned.
