Waffle the Detective Dog Helps Seize €900,000 Worth of Cannabis
Dublin Port seizure: Revenue officials, aided by police dog Waffle, seize €900,000 worth of cannabis.

According to a report by Sundayworld, a detective dog named Waffle assisted the tax authorities in seizing cannabis worth 900,000 euros at Dublin Port.

 

The Tax Authority stated in a press release that "Today, after a risk analysis and with the assistance of police dog Waffle and members of the Irish Police Force, tax officials seized 45 kilograms of herbal cannabis at Dublin Port, estimated to be worth 900,000 Euros.

According to China Customs export data analyzed by 2Firsts, the United States remained China’s largest destination for vape-related exports during January-May 2026 despite a 13.82% year-on-year decline in export value. Meanwhile, exports to Japan, Russia, Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates recorded strong growth, highlighting continued diversification across China’s export markets.

Spain is advancing a new tobacco-control reform that would expand smoking restrictions to additional public spaces, including restaurant terraces and beaches, while bringing vaping and other nicotine products into the same regulatory framework. CCPIT Says Trade Friction Index for China-Related Electronics Sector Remains High, With Vape Products Among Areas of Focus
China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) held its July regular press conference on July 31, 2026, releasing the May 2026 Global Economic and Trade Friction Index. CCPIT spokesperson Yang Fan said the global trade friction index stood at 95 in May, remaining at a medium-to-high level. By industry, the electronics sector recorded the highest trade friction index among 13 monitored industries. In China-related trade frictions, the index stood at 93, with electronics products including drones, chips and vape products among areas where friction remained elevated.
