£4000 Worth of Illegal E-cigarettes Seized in Hinckley by Authorities in UK
Hinckley authorities seize £4000 worth of illegal e-cigarette products, along with untaxed cigarettes, violating UK regulations.

According to a report from the Leicester Mercury on March 5th, the Leicestershire police, along with licensing officers from the Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, seized illegal e-cigarette products worth over £4000 in the central English town of Hinckley. Additionally, an undisclosed quantity of untaxed cigarettes was also found in the retail premises. Local authorities stated that these illegal e-cigarette products are in violation of UK regulations.

 

It is reported that these illegal e-cigarettes may contain high concentrations of nicotine, prohibited substances, or have oversized nicotine e-liquid reservoirs.

 

At present, the seized items will be transferred to the trade standards department for further investigation.

Indonesia’s Ministry of Health is preparing to implement regulations on electronic cigarettes, as provided for in Government Regulation No. 28 of 2024. Disposable Vape Ban Shifts Purchasing Formats as UK Vape Volume Falls 10.3%
Data from convenience insight agency Talysis shows that the value of tobacco, vapes and smoking alternatives in the independent convenience sector fell by 4.4% in the first quarter of 2026, while volume fell by 7.8%. The vaping subcategory declined by 3.9% in value and 10.3% in volume over the same period. Talysis said the impact of the disposable vape ban continues to pressure turnover and footfall.

French lawmakers Nicolas Thierry and Pierre Cazenave said on April 15 that they will file a cross-party bill to extend plain packaging requirements to vaping products.
