58,800 Tobacco Bags and 90 Bottles of E-liquid Seized in Yalova

Turkish police seize 58,800 tobacco pouches and 90 bottles of e-liquid in organized crime investigation operation in Yalova.

According to a report by İhlas News Agency in Turkey, in a complex and organized crime investigation department called KOM located in Yalova, the police have successfully seized 58,800 tobacco-filled pouches and 90 bottles of e-liquid in a small commercial vehicle.

According to information, a search point on the Yalova-Izmit highway was surrounded by the police after a small commercial vehicle, driven by S.A. with an unidentified license plate, was intercepted. Inside the vehicle, the police discovered 58,800 bags filled with tobacco and 90 bottles of e-liquid.

It has been reported that the suspect has been detained and legal proceedings against them have commenced.

Smoking Rate Drops to 17.9%, Vaping Rate Climbs to 9.3% in South Korea

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) released its 2025 Community Health Survey results covering more than 230,000 adults. Traditional cigarette smoking dropped to 17.9%, down 1 percentage point from last year, while e-cigarette use increased to 9.3%, up 0.6 points. Overall tobacco product use stood at 22.1%, a slight decline from 2024 but still 0.5 points higher than 2019.
