Authorities in England crack down on counterfeit e-cigarette and tobacco.
Officials in Sandwell, England seize hidden e-cigarettes in crackdown on counterfeit tobacco, involving multiple agencies. Police vow continued efforts.

According to a report from MSN on July 22, officials in Midlands County, England, discovered a hidden batch of e-cigarettes in a loft during a crackdown on counterfeit e-cigarettes and tobacco products. The seized e-cigarette products included the e-cigarette brand "HAYATI.

According to West Midlands Police (WMP), these e-cigarettes were sniffed out by a tobacco detection dog in Sandwell, as part of a multi-agency operation in the area.

Police said that this year in Sandwell, approximately 3,200 e-cigarettes, 127,300 cigarettes, and 23 bags of shisha were seized, with a total retail value of over £100,000. The operation included inspections, confiscation of counterfeit products, and pursuing closure orders for shops that continuously ignore the law.

Law enforcement officials say that store owners who sell illegal products often hide them in "hidden places," such as under the floor and behind walls. However, there are also some owners who are more brazen, openly displaying hundreds of products. Sandver's Trade Standards Bureau is conducting an investigation.

John Tranter of the Sandvillle WMP partnership team stated that

We are continuing to work hard to remove illegal e-cigarettes and counterfeit cigarettes from the streets, ultimately protecting the public. Thanks to our cooperation with the Sandville City Council, we are cracking down on a wider range of criminal activities, safeguarding the well-being of the community.
