Azerbaijan Economy Minister Meets JTI at Davos
Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy, Mikail Jabbarov, holds talks with Ana Velkovich of Japan Tobacco International at Davos Economic Forum.

According to a report by Trend on November 17th, Mikail Jabbarov, the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, held a meeting with Ana Velkovich, the Director of International Affairs at Japan Tobacco International, during the Davos Economic Forum. The two discussed bilateral cooperation with the company. Additionally, they delved into discussions about the upcoming COP29 event in Azerbaijan and explored methods to attract private sector participation in COP29.

FDA Wins Default Entry in Case Against E-Cigarette Distributor, to Seek Permanent Injunction
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has made procedural progress in its lawsuit against North Carolina-based e-cigarette distributor Dream Distro LLC and its owner. A federal district judge granted the government’s request for entry of default after the defendants failed to respond to the complaint within 21 days of service. The government will next seek a default judgment, including a permanent injunction.

Philip Morris Japan announced on April 23 at a product briefing that ZYN by IQOS, an oral tobacco pouch previously launched in selected areas, will expand sales in Tokyo.
