Bangladesh E-cigarette Importers Appeal to Reconsider Ban Decision
Bangladeshi e-cigarette importers urge Dr. Muhammad Yunus to reconsider the government's ban on e-cigarette imports.

According to the United News of Bangladesh (UNB) on December 30th, Bangladeshi e-cigarette importers have submitted a memorandum to Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, requesting a reconsideration of the government's decision to ban the import of e-cigarettes.

The delegation, composed of Voice of Vapers, Consumer Rights in Sales of Alternative Products (CORSA), and Bangladesh E-Cigarette Trade Association (BENDSTA), submitted a memorandum to the Chief Advisor's office on Saturday (28th).

They expressed serious concerns about the decision of the Commerce Department to include e-cigarettes and electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) on the list of items subject to import policy. Stakeholders say this decision could deprive adult smokers of access to safer alternatives for quitting smoking, potentially causing significant negative impacts on public health and the economy.
