BAT Appoints Song Yongjie as New President to Drive Business Transformation in South Korea
BAT Appoints Sung Yong-jay as New President in South Korea, aiming to strengthen product competitiveness and improve operational efficiency.

South Korean media hankyung reported on February 1 that BAT has announced the appointment of Song Yong-jie as its new President, effective from the same day.

 

Song Yongjie graduated from the London School of Economics in the UK, majoring in accounting and finance. In 2008, he joined the headquarters of the BAT Group in London. Since then, he has held positions such as Corporate Finance Manager for the Western Europe region at BAT Group, as well as Financial Director for BAT Vietnam.

 

BAT company announced that Song Yongjie will play an active role in the ongoing tobacco market industry transition in Korea by enhancing product competitiveness, in order to improve operational efficiency for future investments. Song Yongjie stated, "I will strive to lead the future market through innovation and sustainable growth strategies.

 

This appointment is expected to facilitate BAT's transition from conventional products to non-combustible ones in the domestic tobacco market in South Korea, thereby enhancing the company's product competitiveness.
