Boo: Tobacco Detection Dog Helping Fight Illegal E-cigarettes
Tobacco detection dog Boo assists Scottish police in seizing illegal e-cigarette products in 5 raids across two cities.

According to the Daily Record on April 27th, a tobacco detection dog named Boo assisted local police in Scotland in five raids in two cities, resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of illegal e-cigarette products.

Specially trained dog Boo was able to sniff out nicotine on Thursday (25th) at five e-cigarette suppliers located in Irvine and Saltcoats in North Ayrshire.

In a statement released by the county police department, it was stated that "some counterfeit e-cigarettes often contain dangerously high levels of nicotine, often not meeting UK standards such as child-resistant packaging, leak-proof protection, and other significant health and safety defects. Some seized illegal disposable e-cigarettes contained nicotine levels equivalent to more than 800 cigarettes, exceeding the UK statutory limit by 16 times."
