According to TNOnline on April 17th, the Brazilian Federal Highway Police (PRF) intercepted a truck loaded with electronic products in the Paiçandu area of Maringá.
During a routine patrol, police officers discovered a vehicle attempting to evade inspection in the urban area. The police immediately ordered the vehicle to stop, and upon inspecting the cargo area, found it filled with a large quantity of undeclared electronic products.
After inspection, the police found a total of 5,340 e-cigarettes, 50 tablets, 35 laptops, 1,618 smartphones, and other electronic products. The driver admitted that these goods were being transported from Ciudad del Este and were planned to be delivered to a city in the state of São Paulo. The specific delivery location would be disclosed during the journey.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of smuggling, and the seized vehicles and goods were transferred to the warehouse of the Federal Tax Bureau in Maringa for further processing.
