Brazilian Senator Seeks Strict Regulations on E-cigarette Sales
Brazilian Senator Soraia Tronick from Podemos-MS party proposes strict regulations on e-cigarette sales, aiming to establish clear rules for production, supervision, and advertising.

According to a report from Onortao, Brazilian Senator Soraya Thronicke from the Podemos-MS party has proposed strict regulations in the Senate to govern the sale of e-cigarettes in the region.

 

Tronic has reminded that she has submitted a proposal (PL 5008/2023), which aims to establish clear regulations for the production, sale, supervision, and advertising of e-cigarettes.

One year after the UK disposable vape ban came into force, local authorities continue to seize illegal and non-compliant vaping products. On July 23, 2026, the U.S. House of Representatives passed its version of the Fiscal Year 2027 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which includes Section 707 provisions requiring the Department of Defense to evaluate tobacco use and nicotine alternatives among military personnel. The pilot program would examine products including vapes, nicotine pouches and heated tobacco products, primarily among active-duty service members who continue using combustible tobacco. The provision is a policy evaluation effort, not an authorization for military vaping promotion or a ban on vape products.
