Bulgaria Issues Urgent Recall for Children's Toy-Like E-Cigarettes
Bulgarian consumer protection commission issues urgent recall for children's toy-shaped e-cigarette products, citing health and safety risks.

According to a report by BNT on July 17, the Bulgarian Consumer Protection Commission (CPC) has issued an urgent recall order for child-friendly e-cigarette products that have recently appeared on the market. The CPC has demanded that related companies immediately stop sales and recall such products. It is reported that at the end of May this year, an e-cigarette product with an appearance resembling a tiger pattern was widely sold online and offline channels, and due to its unique design, it easily attracted the attention of young people.

The statement released by the CPC on July 17 clearly points out that toy-shaped e-cigarette products pose a serious threat to the health and safety of consumers. In order to protect the health and safety of the public, especially young people, the CPC has decided to recall specific brands and models of toy-shaped e-cigarette products.

All regional councils, non-governmental organizations, and the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria will simultaneously receive this recall notice. Customs authorities will also be notified of the relevant information regarding this recall action. In order to further strengthen regulation, the Consumer Protection Commission (CPC) will use the European rapid alert system for dangerous non-food products, RAPEX, to issue this recall notice throughout Europe.

According to relevant provisions of the Consumer Protection Law, the Consumer Protection Committee (CPC) will enact legislation to completely prohibit the production, import, export, marketing, and removal from all commercial establishments of such products. This legislation will be published in the national gazette to ensure that consumers are protected from potential health and safety threats.

The product being recalled this time is the TIGER POD e-cigarette, which is known for its various fruit flavors and designs, including peach, lemon, watermelon, and iced watermelon. The product barcodes are 6970323376690, 6970323374788, and 6970323374764.
