According to Lavoixdunord's report on September 4th, a construction site in the center of the city of Roubaix, France experienced an e-cigarette battery explosion incident on Tuesday, September 3rd.

According to reports, a 50-year-old worker had placed an e-cigarette in his pants pocket when suddenly the e-cigarette battery exploded, causing severe burns to his left leg. The injured worker was quickly airlifted to the hospital for treatment.

In 2019 and 2020, the French Consumer Fraud Supervisory Authority (DGCCRF) documented five and three similar incidents respectively.
