Efforts Made to Prevent Misuse of Illegal E-Cigarettes in Indonesia
Indonesia's personal vaporizer industry is taking action to prevent the abuse and illegal circulation of e-cigarettes in the market.

According to a report by Indonesian news website Lifestyle on November 13th, the Indonesian Personal Vaporizer Industry Association (APVI) and other legitimate companies in the e-cigarette industry are making efforts to prevent the misuse of illegal e-cigarettes circulating in the market.

APVI Secretary General, Garindra Kartasasmita, has urged the public not to belittle e-cigarette businesses that are legal and have legal corporate status.

He added that this is to prevent the misuse of alternative tobacco products such as e-cigarettes, nicotine pouches, or heated tobacco products by its user base.

The APVI has collaborated with the Indonesian National Narcotics Agency (BNN), the Indonesian Republic Tax and Custom Authority, and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) over the past few years to launch a campaign against the misuse of e-cigarettes.

Meanwhile, the APVI has set up a specialized task force to closely monitor its members and receive public complaints regarding the widespread misuse of illegal e-cigarette products.

Meanwhile, Paydo Siahaan, the Chairman of the Indonesian E-cigarette Consumer Association (Akvindo), is actively promoting the risks and benefits of alternative tobacco products to the general public.
