Expansion of Tochka Tobacco Specialty Stores in Russia
Russian tobacco retailer "Lenta" expands "Tochka Tobacco" stores, nearly doubling to 31, offering 650-1000 tobacco products, e-cigarettes, and hookahs.

According to Retailer's report on May 22, the number of "Tochka Tobacco" specialty stores belonging to the Russian tobacco retailer "Lenta" has nearly doubled, with a current total of 31 stores.

 

The sales area of each Tochka Tobacco store is approximately 10 to 20 square meters, offering a variety of 650 to 1000 tobacco products, including e-cigarettes and hookahs. These specialized stores are currently operating in large supermarkets in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, as well as in Veliky Novgorod, Petrozavodsk, and Cherepovets.

 

Lenta" started offering tobacco products in April 2023, in order to shift the sale of these products from the traditional checkout counters to new salespoints.

 

From the beginning of the year until April, sales volume of "Tochka Tobacco" at "Lenta" increased by 25% and revenue grew by 40%.

FDA Proposes Foreign Tobacco Factory Registration Rule to Tighten Import Oversight
The FDA has proposed a rule requiring foreign tobacco manufacturers to register facilities and list products before exporting to the U.S. If finalized, the rule could affect overseas OEM/ODM factories, contract manufacturers, specification developers, bulk product makers, and repackaging or relabeling firms. FDA says the proposal would help identify unauthorized imported tobacco products, including e-cigarettes.

His appearance comes months after the FDA moved to accelerate PMTA reviews and introduced a more differentiated enforcement policy for certain unauthorized ENDS and oral nicotine pouch products. The agency also plans a public list identifying manufacturers and products it does not currently intend to prioritize for enforcement under the May guidance. NATO says its membership includes more than 66,000 retail stores, making product-status transparency and enforcement boundaries directly relevant to the retail sector.

U.S. nicotine pouch brand Sesh has emphasized its independence from Altria, Philip Morris International and British American Tobacco, along with backing from investors including 8VC, celebrity supporters and a retail footprint of more than 7,500 stores, as it seeks to differentiate itself in a market where major pouch brands are owned by large tobacco companies.
