In March of this year, the FDA launched a searchable tobacco product database, which is a new user-friendly list of tobacco products (including e-cigarettes) that are legally sold in the United States. The database aims to serve the public, especially retailers, by providing key information in one place and easy-to-use search features.
On May 22nd, the FDA released a new technology update for its database, including enhanced search functionality and improved accessibility for mobile devices.
Users can now search multiple words in the database, allowing them to find results for complex searches more quickly and accurately. For example, searching for "Jane" and "Doe" will display results related to both words. Users can also download full or partial records in different file formats (CSV, PDF, or XLSX). Additionally, mobile users will now have a layout experience in the database that is more suitable for mobile devices, and will have access to the same functionalities as desktop users.
