FDA to Host Webinar Celebrating 10th Anniversary of "The Real Cost" Campaign

FDA to host webinar to celebrate 10th anniversary of "The Real Cost" youth tobacco prevention campaign on June 11.

According to a recent announcement on the official website of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the FDA will be hosting a webinar on June 11th from 3:00 to 4:15 pm EST to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the award-winning "The Real Cost" youth tobacco prevention campaign.

The speaker will discuss the impact of tobacco use on adolescents and the importance of public education in regulating tobacco products comprehensively at this conference. They will also emphasize the adaptability of the event, successful case studies, future prospects, as well as media positioning, creative development, and best practices aimed at adolescents.

The agenda begins at 3:00 pm. Dr. Brian King, Director of the Tobacco Center, will be speaking.

The online seminar will be free to attend, but registration is required beforehand with no deadline. The seminar can be accessed via computer or mobile phone, and live captions and American Sign Language interpretation will be provided on-site.

KT&G reported its Q3 2025 financial results, posting revenue of KRW 1.83 trillion (≈USD 1.31 billion) and a 73.4% year-over-year surge in net profit—marking the company’s highest operating profit in five years. EUIPO Rejects Imiracle’s Opposition to ‘Crystal’ Trademark, Citing Lack of Proof of Actual Use in Slovakia

The EUIPO has ruled that Imiracle failed to demonstrate actual commercial use of its “Elfbar Crystal” brand in Slovakia, and therefore rejected in full the company’s opposition to Shenzhen SKE Technology’s application to register the “Crystal” trademark. The EUIPO noted that the sales records submitted by Imiracle were limited in scope and that the product packaging was in Ukrainian, which it found insufficient to prove that the products had been placed on the Slovak market.

British American Tobacco’s Irish unit says VELO pouch sales hit 29m, net revenue climbs to €33.75m

British American Tobacco’s Irish subsidiary PJ Carroll & Co Ltd reported that sales of its Velo nicotine pouches nearly quintupled in 2024 to 29 million units, driving an 11% year-on-year increase in net revenue to €33.75 million. However, amid a heavy tax burden and declining traditional cigarette volumes, the company’s pre-tax profit fell 8% to €5.69 million.
