
According to reports from ANTV on May 27, the Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department has investigated and handled nearly 20 cases of illegal e-cigarette activities in the first five months of this year, with a total value of goods exceeding 5.2 billion Vietnamese dong.

Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Authority recently stated that the market management teams within the authority have been focusing on implementing various strategies to improve the efficiency of market inspections and controls. They are closely monitoring commercial activities in both traditional and e-commerce sectors, particularly targeting counterfeit goods and unlicensed products, including e-cigarettes and prefabricated cigarettes that are not allowed to be circulated in Vietnam.
The market management department in Ho Chi Minh City has discovered and dealt with 19 cases of illegal activities related to e-cigarettes within five months. They confiscated over 15,500 illegal products, including e-cigarettes, e-liquids, and accessories, with a total value exceeding 5.2 billion Vietnamese dong (approximately $20,000). They also imposed fines totaling nearly 347 million Vietnamese dong (approximately $13,000).
