Hull Royal Hospital to Provide Recyclable E-Cigarettes for Smokers
Hull Royal Infirmary in the UK plans to distribute recyclable e-cigarettes to all smoking staff and visitors.

According to a report from Hulldailymail, the Hull Royal Infirmary in the United Kingdom is planning to distribute reusable e-cigarettes to any staff member or visitor who smokes.

Starting from Tuesday, a new team at Hull Royal Infirmary is offering smoking staff and visitors over the age of 18 a chance to access smoking cessation support outside the main entrance.

Hull Hospital has implemented a comprehensive smoking ban, with the "Swap and Stop" tobacco dependency treatment team offering support and medication to all admitted patients to help them control their cravings for cigarettes. Since its launch in August 2022, these measures have proven to be successful, with over one-third of patients remaining completely smoke-free one month after discharge.

The team is launching a new initiative to encourage individuals visiting or working in hospitals to abstain from smoking, and members will be stationed at the hospital entrances to offer smokers the option to switch to recyclable e-cigarettes.
