JTI Releases Limited Edition "Bronze Glaze" Ploom X Advanced

Japan Tobacco International (JTI) launches limited edition "Ploom X Advanced" in "Bronze Glaze" color at CLUB JT and Ploom stores.

According to Kakaku, on May 7, Japan Tobacco International (JTI) announced that they would begin selling their limited edition color "Bronze Glaze" of the Ploom X Advanced heated tobacco device on May 7 in the CLUB JT online store and at Ploom stores nationwide.

Bronze Glaze" is the first color in the limited edition series "Ploom X Advanced". The company describes this limited edition color as: "It showcases a calm and warm tone with a seamless blend of natural luster and distinctive bronze color.

The pre-sale price of this new product is 1980 Japanese Yen (12.81 US dollars).

EUIPO Rejects Imiracle’s Opposition to ‘Crystal’ Trademark, Citing Lack of Proof of Actual Use in Slovakia

The EUIPO has ruled that Imiracle failed to demonstrate actual commercial use of its “Elfbar Crystal” brand in Slovakia, and therefore rejected in full the company’s opposition to Shenzhen SKE Technology’s application to register the “Crystal” trademark. The EUIPO noted that the sales records submitted by Imiracle were limited in scope and that the product packaging was in Ukrainian, which it found insufficient to prove that the products had been placed on the Slovak market.

South Korea to Classify Synthetic Nicotine E-Cigarettes as Tobacco from April 2026

South Korea will implement amendments to its Tobacco Business Act on April 24, 2026, officially classifying synthetic nicotine liquid e-cigarettes as tobacco. This marks the first revision of the legal definition of tobacco since 1988. Once in effect, synthetic nicotine e-cigarettes will be subject to existing tobacco regulations, including health warnings, advertising restrictions, smoke-free area enforcement, and youth protection measures.

Former Malaysian Health Minister Allegedly Rejected RM50 Million Bribe Over GEG

A former political aide has alleged that a RM50 million bribe was offered to Malaysia’s then health minister to abandon the tobacco generational end game (GEG) policy. The claim was published in an opinion article and on social media. No report was made to anti-corruption authorities. Despite the alleged rejection, the GEG provision was later removed from the tobacco bill tabled in Parliament in 2023.

Czech Republic to Tighten E-Cigarette Rules in December, Ban Candy Flavours and Cannabinoids

Czech Republic will tighten regulations on the sale and labelling of e-cigarettes from December. Manufacturers will have seven months to sell existing stock, after which candy-flavoured or cannabinoid-containing e-cigarettes will be banned. A survey by the National Institute of Public Health (SZÚ) found that nearly 14% of the population used e-cigarettes in 2024 — almost triple the rate five years earlier.
