Creating a Diverse and Inclusive Work Environment at JTI
JTI's UK branch emphasizes commitment to diversity and inclusivity, promoting a work environment where all can thrive.

According to a report by Eastern Eye, Ruth Forbes, the Community and Environment Director of Japan Tobacco International's (JTI) UK division, recently emphasized the company's commitment to creating a work environment where everyone can thrive, with diversity and inclusivity at the core of their work.

 

Forbes stated, "We believe that diversity and inclusion will make our business stronger in three key ways: allowing employees to be themselves, encouraging new ways of thinking, and enabling us to lead inclusively." JTI operates in 130 countries globally, with 48,000 employees from 119 different nationalities.

 

JTI has implemented a project called the "Introduction Program," which aims to break down barriers by promoting mutual understanding among colleagues in order to increase collaboration and productivity. Notably, the company ensures that all employees have access to free mental health and well-being services. Since 2021, the company has also provided mandatory training for line managers on how to support the health and positive mental states of their teams.

 

Forbes stated, "We recognize that creating an environment where employees feel comfortable speaking up about mental health issues, encouraging colleagues to openly share concerns, and seek help when needed is crucial.
