JTI Launches Mayfair Gold Sales Competition with £50,000 Prize
JTI's Mayfair Gold sales competition offers retailers a chance to win £50,000, encouraging growth in the UK tobacco market.

According to a report from Talkingretail, Japan Tobacco International (JTI) held a sales competition for its newly launched value cigarette brand Mayfair Gold in January 2023. Retailers who participated in the competition had the chance to win one of five prizes totaling £50,000 simply by purchasing the corresponding products.

One of the winners, Neil Ramlagan, stated, "I initially learned about this 'Golden Draw' from a trade news bulletin, and then my JTI business advisor recommended that I increase my stock so that I could participate in the competition. When I received the call informing me that I had become one of the five grand prize winners, I was incredibly shocked as I had never experienced such a milestone before. I plan to use the prize money to take a nice vacation and then invest in my store.

Mark McGuinness, the Marketing Director for JTI UK, commented: "For us, the value market has always been a top priority because it is the fastest-growing segment for our tobacco and hand-rolled cigarettes. The successful launch of Mayfair Gold would not have been possible without the efforts of national retailers. Therefore, we are extremely grateful to be able to express our thanks for their ongoing support. We extend our utmost congratulations to all successful retailers."
