
According to Romania Insider on October 8th, Japan Tobacco International (JTI) has established a technical center in Romania with approximately 140 employees.
The company stated that its team of experts in the capital city of Bucharest provides information technology support for all types of activities within JTI globally. This includes production in 38 factories worldwide, 8 research and development centers, as well as departments such as sales, marketing, finance, and human resources.
JTI Romania, Moldova, and Bulgaria's General Manager Alexander Pitchka stated:
The technology center established in Romania is one of JTI's six global centers, symbolizing our firm commitment to the development of Romania.
JTI has over 1400 employees in Romania, spread across its headquarters and factories in Bucharest, a recently established technology center, and more than 30 sales offices nationwide. Additionally, JTI Romania also oversees markets in Bulgaria and Moldova.
In 2023, JTI's two companies in operation in Romania, JTI Trading and JTI Manufacturing, generated a combined revenue exceeding 1.7 billion euros.
