Kazakhstan Pass Law to Hold Individuals Accountable for Importing or Selling E-cigarettes
Kazakhstan parliament approves ban on importing and selling e-cigarettes, introducing criminal liability for violators.

According to a report from tass.ru on March 20th, the Kazakhstani parliament has passed a bill banning the import and sale of e-cigarettes. The legislation also introduces provisions for holding individuals accountable for importing or selling e-cigarettes.

The bill also prohibits advertising of non-tobacco products, hookah, heated tobacco products, herbal blends, e-liquid, and other products, as well as the use of brand logos and known non-tobacco and e-cigarette names in product advertising.

Individuals involved in the import and sale of e-cigarettes will be held criminally responsible. Industry insiders say that the introduction of new rules involving criminal liability will have a significant impact on the e-cigarette industry.
