KT&G and PMI Collaborate to Launch New HNB E-Cigarette in US
KT&G and PMI sign MOU to launch new HNB e-cigarette "NGP" in US market, seek FDA approval.

According to a report by Asiae on July 30th, South Korean tobacco company KT&G and Philip Morris International (PMI) have reached a new business cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) to launch a new HNB e-cigarette "NGP" in the US market and apply for sales approval.

 

This collaboration marks the two companies jointly submitting a Pre-Market Tobacco Product Application (PMTA) for this e-cigarette product to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Additionally, KT&G and PMI will also closely collaborate in the regulatory review of Next Generation Products (NGP).

 

Prior to this, KT&G and PMI established a partnership in January of last year (2023) to promote the commercialization of KT&G's NGP products in overseas markets.

 

KT&G's CEO Bang Kyung-Man stated,

 

The company is currently focusing on three core businesses: NGP, overseas cigarettes, and health functional foods, actively promoting global expansion and structural transformation. KT&G is committed to achieving its vision of becoming a top global enterprise by innovating NGP products and utilizing scientific research and development capabilities.
