London Shop Fined Over 3000 Pounds for Illegal Cigarette Sales
Longland store in East London fined over £3000 for selling illegal cigarettes hidden under counters and in bags.

According to Mylondon, a store in East London named Longland has been fined over £3000 for selling hundreds of illegal cigarettes on three separate occasions.

 

The shop, located in Heathway, Dagenham, has been found to be selling illicit cigarettes concealed underneath the counter and in shopping bags during several inspections conducted by regulatory authorities.

 

Shop manager Cosmin-Alexandru Taralunga has admitted to owning and selling illicit tobacco products. Despite multiple attempts by the local government to engage with the shop and offer guidance on legal alternatives, the store continues to persist in the sale of illegal cigarettes.

 

The store has been ordered to pay a fine of £1000, legal fees of £1887.5 to the government, and a victim surcharge of £400. Mr. Taralunga will also have to pay an additional £120.
