According to Fox News, on June 18, two non-profit organizations in the United States, Americans for Consumer Protection and Building America's Future, have joined forces to launch a nationwide campaign to prevent Democratic lawmakers from cracking down on ZYN nicotine pouches.
The movement called "Save Our Pouches" has received a six-figure funding and support from a group of nicotine pouch enthusiasts. The campaign, which began at the US Open in North Carolina last weekend, is gradually gaining traction at sporting events across the country, collecting signatures to prevent the ban of ZYN by regulatory agencies.
Nicotine pouches have been found to help adult smokers transition to "safer alternatives." Sweden has effectively eliminated the use of traditional cigarettes by promoting the transition to safer alternatives and allowing the sale of smoke-free alternatives, such as nicotine pouches.
Previously, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer called for the federal government to crack down on ZYN nicotine pouches, but faced strong opposition.
The "Save Our Nicotine Pouches" summer tour is expected to appear at 10 sports events across the United States in the coming months. The groups are considering participating in upcoming events such as UFC 303, WWE SummerSlam, and NASCAR races including the Great American Getaway, Firekeepers Casino 400, and Quaker State 400.
