Navarra Retail Systems Launches Innovative Smart E-cigarette Shelf
Navarra Retail Systems introduces new smart e-cigarette shelf in response to recent government consultation.

On January 4th, British media outlet Forecourttrader reported that Navarra Retail Systems has launched a new intelligent e-cigarette display stand, combining traditional cigarettes and e-cigarettes in one unit. Hugh Walker, the sales director of the company, stated that this move was in response to the recent e-cigarette consultation conducted by the British government.

The intelligent e-cigarette display shelf utilizes a compact modular design, with each 600mm-wide unit capable of accommodating up to 75 different products. By moving the e-cigarette devices to the store's back office, the shelf ensures that children are unable to access them, and they can only be sold through the cash register. The inventory is securely stored in the dispenser and accessed through an electronic point of sale (POS) system.

Walker said that the system will enhance e-cigarette sales and strengthen safety measures, while also complying with upcoming government regulations to mitigate the risk of selling e-cigarettes and nicotine products to children under 18. Additionally, he emphasized that this system does not restrict retailers from choosing the brands of e-cigarettes they sell.

Navarra will confirm the final specifications and production details after receiving the government's ultimate response to the inquiry.
