PMI Collaborates with Moroccan Artist for Limited Edition IQOS ILUMA Series
Philip Morris International (PMI) collaborates with Moroccan artist Yassine Morabite, launching limited edition IQOS ILUMA series products.

According to a report from Morocco's leseco on December 6th, Philip Morris International (PMI) announced a collaboration with Moroccan artist Yassine Morabite to launch a limited edition IQOS ILUMA series product.

 

PMI has stated that it has drawn endless inspiration from Moroccan art. Through collaboration with an artist who brilliantly combines cultural authenticity with a modern style, PMI is not only seeking to respect the artistic heritage of African Amazigh, but also aiming to make breakthroughs in the heated tobacco experience of IQOS ILUMA.

UK Tobacco and Vapes Bill Receives Royal Assent, Banning Tobacco Sales to People Born After 2008
The UK government announced on April 29 that the Tobacco and Vapes Bill had received Royal Assent and become law. Under the new law, it is illegal to sell tobacco to anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 2009. The government said the law creates the UK’s first “smoke-free generation” and includes measures to ban the advertising and sponsorship of vapes and nicotine products, as well as powers to restrict packaging, branding and displays designed to appeal to children.

Philip Morris Limited has launched LEVIA, a new range of zero-tobacco flavored nicotine sticks created for the IQOS ILUMA range. The product expands the company’s smoke-free portfolio in the UK and will initially be available in four variants, including Deep Mint and three capsule-based flavors. LEVIA has a recommended retail price of £5, or about $6.73, based on the European Central Bank’s April 28.

U.S. Senator Dick Durbin on May 13 criticized the Trump Administration’s Food and Drug Administration for approving the sale and marketing of fruit-flavored e-cigarettes for the first time, while also allowing some illegal vaping products to remain on the market. The FDA has proposed a rule requiring foreign tobacco manufacturers to register facilities and list products before exporting to the U.S. If finalized, the rule could affect overseas OEM/ODM factories, contract manufacturers, specification developers, bulk product makers, and repackaging or relabeling firms. FDA says the proposal would help identify unauthorized imported tobacco products, including e-cigarettes.
