Philip Morris International Launches New IQOS ILUMA i Series
Philip Morris International (PMI) Korea launches "IQOS ILUMA i" series nationwide, offering new features for adult smokers.

According to DT.CO on February 13, Philip Morris International (PMI) Korea announced on that day that they will be launching the "IQOS ILUMA i" series of heated tobacco devices nationwide.


This new product can be purchased at nine national IQOS flagship stores and major convenience stores. Customers who purchase online can also enjoy free delivery services.


The "IQOS ILUMA i" series includes two flagship models, "IQOS ILUMA i Prime" and "IQOS ILUMA i", available in various colors such as Micro Breeze Blue, Pomegranate Red, and Digital Purple.


A spokesperson from Philip Morris International (PMI) Korea stated, "Adult smokers can now purchase the new IQOS ILUMA i series at nearby convenience stores. With added features such as a touch screen and pause mode, the user experience will be enhanced, providing a higher level of enjoyment.

UK Vape Tax Countdown: Retailer Vape HQ Estimates 100ml E-liquid Prices Could Rise From £12.99 to £39.39, While Pod Kits Increase Less Than 10%
The UK’s Vaping Products Duty (VPD), scheduled to take effect in October 2026, is prompting retailers to assess how different vape categories may be affected. UK retailer Vape HQ has estimated potential price changes under the new volume-based tax system, showing that 100ml shortfill e-liquids could see prices rise from around £12.99 to £39.39, a 203% increase, while 2ml prefilled pod vape kits could rise from £5.99 to £6.52, an increase of about 9%. The estimates highlight how a volume-based tax structure creates uneven cost impacts across product categories.

The FDA authorized the JUUL2 device and tobacco- and menthol-flavored pods on Aug. 28, bringing the number of authorized e-cigarette products to 48. The agency highlighted complete switching among adult smokers, with six-week switching rates reaching 28.4%–49.3% for the menthol pod. China’s vape exports to the U.S. reached approximately $1.58 billion in the first half of 2026, remaining broadly stable from a year earlier but still below previous growth momentum. 2Firsts’ analysis of China Customs data shows that the U.S. market has not simply returned to its previous trajectory after the enforcement shock and inventory-driven swings of 2025. Instead, export momentum is shifting across product categories. Vaping devices and atomization hardware increased 15.2% year over year, while 6-methyl nicotine-related and other nicotine substitute products surged 234.7%. Meanwhile, traditional nicotine-containing vaping products continued to face pressure.

U.S. Customs Plan to Require Foreign Export Declarations Could Deal ‘Devastating’ Blow to China’s Vape Exports, Logistics gl Expert Says
A U.S. Customs and Border Protection proposal to collect foreign export declarations and other overseas customs documents could expose discrepancies in the value, classification and description of China-made vape shipments entering the United States. A veteran Chinese logistics professional told 2Firsts that the measure, if implemented, could undermine the all-inclusive shipping model used by some unauthorized vape exporters and push parts of the trade toward costlier underground channels. The risk extends beyond higher duties: accurately declared products may also be more readily identified as unauthorized e-cigarettes subject to FDA enforcement.
