2Firsts, reporting from Shenzhen - The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) seized approximately 3.9 million pesos ($70,000) worth of unregistered e-cigarette products in two operations in Quezon City, MB reported.
The Director of the CIDG, Major General Nicolas Torre III, has announced that the operation resulted in the arrest of six suspects who will be charged with violations of Republic Act 11900 (Vaporized Nicotine and Non-Nicotine Products Regulation Act), among other related laws.
According to Torre, the arrested suspects were selling and distributing e-cigarette products in the Philippines without the necessary permit from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
The raid took place in Barangay Bagbag and Barangay Roxas, where a total of 8,567 X-BLACK ELITE 12000 mouthpiece e-cigarette devices, 300 X-BLACK ELITE 8000 mouthpiece e-cigarette devices, and 924 pre-filled pods of various flavors were seized. Additionally, two large boxes of X-BLACK ELITE 12000, one KADOBAR large box, and three Royal Elite battery boxes were also confiscated.
